PASTURED TURKEYS AND FREE-RANGE GEESE
We order the turkeys and geese from a hatchery and they arrive at the farm in the spring as little fluffballs. Along with us, farm customers and visitors enjoy watching their antics as they grow! They are only sold LIVE, and must be picked up on or before November 26, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Shipping and delivery is not available.
The turkeys are Broad-Breasted Bronze. Once they are feathered out enough to leave the warm brooder, they go in floorless pasture shelters just like the meat chickens. In addition to their high-protein turkey feed, they eat green plants and bugs to make their meat taste terrific. By November the males are strutting and rustling just like the one in the photo (taken in our driveway). RESERVE TURKEY
Our geese will be white Embdens this year. Geese are natural grazers who will keep the lawn mowed. Once our goslings are feathered enough to be outside, during the day they run free in the barnyard and our small orchard, and at night they are locked up safely within a fenced shelter. Goose meat, which is succulent, all dark, and very flavorful, makes a delicious alternative for the holiday table. RESERVE GOOSE
