FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are your products organic?

They’re not officially certified organic. Our garden produce, geese, ducks, and sheep could be considered "beyond organic." Any animal which eats non-certified organic grain is not. That includes chickens, goats, and pigs. However, our animals are humanely treated, free-ranging or pasture-raised, and given neither hormones nor antibiotics.

Will you slaughter our animal for us?

We are not licensed to slaughter sheep, goats, or pigs. You buy the animal and do it yourself.

If you buy live poultry for meat, please plan to process it at your own house.

How can I buy animals or poultry from you?

1) Email through the website to check availability. If we have what you need, I’ll email an order form for you to return with a deposit. We found last year that by making the order form available to the whole world on the website, we received plenty of spam and orders that we couldn’t fulfill.

2) Text 872-205-0801 to check availability. It’s best to give 24 hours notice.

3) Drop by during open hours wanting an animal now. We’ll consult the animal rosters and show you what’s available. Last year all the lambs and goat kids were sold/reserved by October 1. Please think ahead and reserve your Thanksgiving, Eid, Christmas, or Rosh Hashanah animal well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Can I buy just one dozen eggs, a bottle of syrup, or one jar of milk from you once in awhile?

Certainly! We’ll be working around the farm during open hours. Just ring the bell loudly, honk, or holler, and we’ll come to the Farm Store in the garage. It’s best to text the night before if you suspect our supply is low, to make sure we’ll have what you need.

Why can’t I order eggs, milk, etc. online for you to have ready like WalMart and Meijers?

Sorry, but we don’t have employees like big stores. On the other hand, big stores can’t compete on freshness. Please come to the Farm Store in the garage and choose exactly the items you want.
