African geese have several roles. Their succulent dark meat makes a special Christmas dinner centerpiece. They are great guards—no one will come on your property unannounced! Their larger egg size will make wonderful Slavic-style decorated eggs called pysanky. Their favorite food is grass, and they can keep your lawn short or weed your garden if timed just right. They model lifetime monogamous marriage and attentive parenting while warding off interlopers.

Like all waterfowl, they are much more difficult to pluck than land fowl like chickens or turkeys.
They must be picked up at the farm; no shipping or delivery.
